Senior Counsel Ahmednasir is one of the top-rated dispute resolutions lawyers in Kenya. His experience spans over two decades and over the years he has had the privilege to litigate numerous landmark and precedent setting cases involving complex legal issues.
He represents clients at the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the High Court of Kenya. His client list includes multinational corporations, parastatals, Constitutional bodies and private clients. Over the span of his career, he has garnered vast experience in litigating complex commercial disputes such as minority shareholder rights, unfair prejudice disputes in companies, corporate structuring, corporate insolvency and insolvency arrangements and derivative actions as well as Constitutional and Administrative Law cases.
Outside his courtroom accomplishments, Senior Counsel has also made notable contributions to the legal fraternity when he served as a Law Reform Commissioner where he undertook various legislative reviews such as the review of the Law of Contract, Insurance Act, Banking Act, the Companies’ Act and other regulatory legislation. He participated in the review of the Reinsurance Act, which is repealed the previous Reinsurance Act and presented their proposals to the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs.
He is presently representing a multi-million global real-estate company involved in a complex corporate litigation on shareholders’ disputes, post-acquisition litigation, and corporate fraud.
- He was the Lead Counsel for the Office of the President in the Waki Commission investigating the 2007/2008 post-election violence in Kenya.
- Involved in numerous precedent setting and landmark court cases that have shaped various legislative and regulatory frameworks across a broad range of legal matters in Kenya.
- He was the lead counsel for the President of the Republic of Kenya in the 2017 Election Petition at the Supreme Court of Kenya.
- Has acted for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in the Supreme Court Election Petition on the 2013 Elections.
- He has undertaken consultancies for the World Bank, UN Agencies, State Corporations, NGOs and the Government of Kenya in complex and wide-ranging legal matters.
- He has arbitrated in various matters with the current matter being a dispute of over 10 Billion Kenya Shillings.
