Samson is a Partner and head of the Corporate / Commercial and Technology Media and Telecommunications (“TMT”) departments of the Firm.
He is a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and also holds a South African Attorney’s Certificate of Proficiency from the Law Society of Cape of Good hope.
Samson obtained his LLB (Hons.) from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa, in 2008, trained as an Articled Clerk with Rushmere Noach Incorporated (South Africa) for two years and obtained his Attorneys Certificate of Proficiency in 2009.
Prior to joining Ahmednasir Abdullahi Advocates LLP in 2023, Samson was a partner at the firm of CMS Daly Inamdar, where he had undertaken his pupillage in 2013 and ultimately qualified as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2014.

Samson is a member of the TMT committee of the East Africa Law Society, a member of the Law Society of Kenya, International Association of Privacy Professionals and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (Affiliate).
- Acting for various local and international organisations in connection with corporate M&A matters including preparing and negotiating transaction documents such as share purchases, joint venture agreements and asset and business purchase agreements, as well as advising on business restructuring and regulatory approvals where required.
- Advising various multinational organisations seeking to rollout their technology offerings in Kenya and in particular advising on regulatory requirements for payments service providers licenses and telecommunication licenses.
- Advising and successfully acting for a global web services provider on the expansion of its operations into Kenya by placing outpost equipment at a customer’s facility/site, which will provide them access to the suite cloud services as well as setting up of points of presence and local zones at existing colocation data center that is owned by a third-party
- Providing regulatory advice in connection with the provision of telemedicine services in Kenya including setting up of the platform, and advising on data privacy, consumer protection and telecommunications legislation
- Advising multinationals and particularly social media and tech platforms / companies on various data localization projects and compliance with Kenya Data Protection Act including review and drafting of relevant policies and procedures.
- Advising a number of local companies on the full spectrum of data protection issues arising from data protection legislation particularly on obligations of controllers and processors as well as providing external data protection officer services.
- Providing tailormade in-house training on data protection legislation and compliance to board members as well as employees in risk, ICT and legal departments of top-tier licensed financial institutions
- Advising international investors on various energy projects including establishment of a wind park expected to be the largest in East Africa and one of the first fully privately funded commercial project; establishment and operation of a ship-to-truck facility for the distribution of liquified petroleum gas (“LPG”) in bulk / cylinders; advising an international client on various public private partnership projects with respect to setting up of amongst others, a gas fired power plant, pipeline, desalination plant and obtaining an LPG Licence: and acquisition of shares in energy companies
- Acting for multinational companies in public private partnership matters, notably: advising on a PPP project with respect to constructing and leasing an accommodation facility in South Sudan; and successfully acting for global port management company headquartered in Manila, in a dispute relating to public private partnership with the Kenya Ports Authority
- Advising and successfully acting for a top cement producer in Kenya in respect of an investigation by the Competition Authority of Kenya regarding restrictive trade practices.
- Advising various international organisations on employment matters, including review and drafting of contracts, country manuals and employment handbooks/policies to ensure compliance with Kenyan Law as well as acting for both employers and employees in disputes.
- Advising various non-governmental organisations compliance and governance matters.
