Towett is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Department of the Firm.
He was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya on 5th August 2022. Towett’s main areas of practice are Civil and Commercial litigation, Employment Law, Environmental Law, Constitutional Law and Judicial Review, Conveyancing, Procurement Law, and Debt recovery.
He has a keen interest on public law, devolution Law, human rights Law, corporate consultancy and litigation, election petitions and Anti-corruption and Economic Crimes Disputes.
Towett represents clients in all dispute resolution tribunals including the Court of Appeal, High Court and occasionally appears at Subordinate Courts.
- Being part of a team that successfully challenged the constitution of the County Government of Kericho on the basis that it, contrary to the Constitution failed to include representation of people living with disability.
- Assisting in an employment and labour relations dispute which resulted in the reinstatement of the Principal of Nakuru High School after being unfairly interdicted and dismissed for purportedly charging extra levies in excess of Fifty Million Shillings.
- Assisted in preparation of pleadings and submissions in a multimillion-shilling claim in connection with misappropriation of a renown public figure’s image rights by a blue-chip company in Kenya.
- Played a pivotal role in preparation of both pleadings and submissions in the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes case against a former Governor of Nairobi.
- Preparation of pleadings and submissions in a Three (3) Billion Kenya Shillings mortgage finance dispute; the matter is pending judgement.
- Part of the team of Lawyers that prevented arbitrary stoppage of business and eviction of a prominent sugar factory over unsubstantiated claims of environmental violations.
- Part of the team that acted in criminal proceedings involving the President of the Football Federation of Kenya, thereby securing his acquittal and ultimate reinstatement to his post which had been assumed by a caretaker Committee.
